Getting ready for the weekend

One of the great things about being a Pirate Guy is that you probably already have your Halloween costume ready to go. No last minute decisions for you!

For this Halloween weekend Cap'n Slappy and I will be on the road. We'll be performing at the Ship Ashore in Smith River, California, just over the border from Brookings, Oregon. The doors for this pirate-themed Halloween party open at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30. We'll be on at about 9:30 doing our typical schtick, teaching those in attendance how to talk like a pirate, walk like a pirate, and a lot of other stuff you probably don't need to know! We'll also be presenting the world premier of the "Cap'n Slappy Rap," which we're very excited about.

The night also features a D.J., dancing, karaoke, and a performance by the Renegade Line Dancers (don't worry, Slappy and I will NOT be dancing! You don't want to see that.) There'll be a prize for best pirate costume and for best all-around costume. Tickets are $7 at the door.

It's kind of a remote place, even if you live in Oregon, but it should be well worth the trouble.
